Bill Bond (1942- )
Selected in the top 10 for all-time male junior tennis rankings in Southern California (1960-1995). Also, a member of arguably the greatest college team that ever was; the 1963 USC Trojan squad which included Dennis Ralston, Rafael Osuna, Tom Edlefsen, and Ramsey Earnhart. At the time, Bill was ranked individually in the top 10 in the U.S. In 1964, he and Ralston defeated Charlie Pasarell and Arthur Ashe for the NCAA Doubles Championship. Bill went on to become a world-class player from the late 50's to the mid 60's and also made his mark as a veteran teaching pro at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club for thirty-five years. Among notables he has coached are: Alex O’Brien, Raul Ramirez, Terry Holladay, and Chico Hagey. A USPTA Master Professional, Bill recently retired and moved to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii with his wife Suzie of forty-one years. They now have two grown children, Bill Jr. and Cindy.
