CONGRATULATIONS RYAN SEGGERMAN &

PATRICK TRHAC!

Ryan Seggerman of Coronado and partner Patrick Trhac of Rancho Bernardo captured the 2024 Mexico City Open ATP Challenger this past Sunday. Ryan and Patrick were given a wildcard entry at Indian Wells  earlier this year and took out the #6 seed Gonzalez/Molteni in a deciding 10-point breaker 10-8. They lost in the next round to the eventual winners of the tournament 4-6 6-7 (6-8). Their performance in Indian Wells proved they  belong on the ATP Tour as a team to be reckoned with. Wishing you continued success and a long career on the ATP Tour.

Team Tennis Parent,

How can you pass this up or maybe you know someone who would benefit from this?

Ed Collins runs an amazing foundation here in SD and wants to help USTA Jr Team Tennis Players.

Ed is a hall of fame tennis coach from the USD Men's Tennis Program and now coaches at Peninsula and loves to give back.

He would like to help get more new tennis rackets in players' hands. Amazing rackets too from OUR LOCAL TENNIS SHOP IN SD!

See below on the steps:

"Earn" a New Tennis Racquet!

Collins Arts & Sport Foundation, in association with USTA Jr. Team Tennis, is offering your child an opportunity to "earn" a new tennis racquet.

How?

By doing some hours of community service, then writing a brief essay about the experience.

Step #1 -- Apply by emailing me (Conan Lorenzo) and include your team tennis coaches' name, describing your child's proposed community service project.

Step #2 -- Participants will be selected and notified by CASF.

Step #3 -- Complete community service (of your choice) and write an essay.

Step #4 -- Go to Racquet Stringing Workshop (in La Jolla) to select your racquet.

Jenna and I just had a great podcast last week with Bill Kellogg and Jack McGrory and had a great chance to hear the ins and outs on how they got the ATP/WTA event and more here in SD.

I was amazed at how they put these events together and then to hear some of the back end things that went on.

If you are a tennis fan, this is a necessary listen to for sure :)

Also, can you recommend any more listeners? In other words is there anyone else you would recommend for me to send this out to so they can enjoy it?

Here are some good quotes from the listen!!

"Everything we planned started at the bar with a drink"

"We do not get money from TV for the tournament, which I think everyone expects to happen and that we are raking in the money"
