
MINUTES OF SDDTA GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING JANUARY 16, 2009
Next meeting is a General Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 7:00pm, BTC Clubhouse
I. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by President Geoff Griffin. Members present were: Ralph Anderson, Robert Bacon, Mike Bauer, Larry Belinsky, Fred Circo, Andrew Cretella, Don Daniels, Virginia Glass, Geoff Griffin, Carol Jory, Steve Kappes, William Kellogg, Sandie Kindred, Roz King, Barbara Kingston, Jim Lackritz, Fran McCloskey, Anne Podney, Ben Press, Susan Delos Santos, Lesley Waite, and Fran Wakefield.
II. MINUTES: It was MSP to accept the minutes of December 16, 2008.
III. PRESIDENTS REPORT: Geoff reported that a quorum of votes from organizational members was reached to reelect for three more years those board members whose terms expired in 2008.
IV. TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer’s report was reviewed. During the discussion of investments, Anne Podney requested a comparison to the year-end numbers for last year. Mike reported that the Merrill Lynch account currently is at $149,000 compared to $169,000 at this time last year. Bill Kellogg mentioned that we need to make sure expenses and assets balance on the Balance Sheet. Mike said that a corrected balance sheet was sent to Directors by e-mail. MSP to accept the Treasurer’s report.
V. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
A. Newsletter: Lesley thanked Fran for writing tournament articles about SD women for the newsletter. Don Daniels will take over this role in the future.
B. Nominations: Two nominations to fill vacant BOD positions. It was MSP to accept Juan Villanueva and Brenda Phillips as new Directors.
C. Grants: The Grant Committee will meet at 6 pm on March 11, before the General Meeting. All grants must be submitted to either Anne Podney or Jeff Anderson by February 17th.
VI. OLD BUSINESS: Geoff suggested the Board purchase more rackets for the community college programs. MSP to spend up to $500 on rackets.
VII. NEW BUSINESS: none reported.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 5:50pm.
