Thank you to everyone who participated in the 24th Annual San Diego Tennis Fest! All the teaching pros, volunteers, sponsors, participants and of course Colleen Clery Ferrell and her staff at the Balboa Tennis Club for hosting the event every year. This is truly a San Diego County Tennis Community event and so many Tennis Clubs and Tennis organizations from around the County contributed to funding this event allowing it to become more  special than ever before. All told, the local clubs contributed to half of the overall funding. The Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA) provided the single largest contribution and Southern California Tennis Association Foundation contributed a sizable contribution as well.

Team Tennis Parent,

How can you pass this up or maybe you know someone who would benefit from this?

Ed Collins runs an amazing foundation here in SD and wants to help USTA Jr Team Tennis Players.

Ed is a hall of fame tennis coach from the USD Men's Tennis Program and now coaches at Peninsula and loves to give back.

He would like to help get more new tennis rackets in players' hands. Amazing rackets too from OUR LOCAL TENNIS SHOP IN SD!

See below on the steps:

"Earn" a New Tennis Racquet!

Collins Arts & Sport Foundation, in association with USTA Jr. Team Tennis, is offering your child an opportunity to "earn" a new tennis racquet.

How?

By doing some hours of community service, then writing a brief essay about the experience.

Step #1 -- Apply by emailing me (Conan Lorenzo) and include your team tennis coaches' name, describing your child's proposed community service project.

Step #2 -- Participants will be selected and notified by CASF.

Step #3 -- Complete community service (of your choice) and write an essay.

Step #4 -- Go to Racquet Stringing Workshop (in La Jolla) to select your racquet.
