Level 5 Open: 49th Tennis Tournament Honoring Martin Luther King

Don't miss your chance to register for one of the first tennis tournaments of 2026. The 49th Martin Luther King Tournament is taking place January 10-11 & 17-19, 2026 on the seven courts of Mountain View Sports & Racquet Club in Southeast San Diego. Test your singles and/or doubles tennis game against regional talent in a competitive yet social environment. Last year there were over 180 players. This a great opportunity for those looking to earn ranking points, achieve personal bests, and enjoy the competitive spirit of tennis.
In addition to the Open division, this tennis tournament honoring MLK features a wide range of event categories by NTRP rating (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5) in Men's and Women's Singles and Doubles, as well as Mixed Doubles (NTRP combo 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0), and Age categories 60s & 70s for Men's and Women's Singles and Doubles.
Whether you're new to tournaments or a seasoned competitor, this is your chance to elevate your game.
Spots fill up fast, secure your entry by registering today! There is no payment charge until after player selection is finalized. The deadline to register is January 4, 2026.
As a Level 5 tournament, ranking points will be awarded to players as follows:
Champion: 750 Points
Finalist: 525 Points
3rd Place: 450 Points
4th Place/Semi-Finals: 375 Points
Reached Quarterfinals: 263 Points
Reached Round of 16: 188 Points
Reached Round of 32: 113 Points
Reached Round of 64: 75 Points
Participation: 8 Points
Interested in playing doubles but don't have a partner to sign up with? No problem! When you register you can mark yourself as "Looking for a partner" and you'll get paired with someone of complementary level.
