Jayson and Michael Blando: Doubles on the Pro Tour

San Diego native Brian Teacher, Australian Open Tennis Champion and founder of FullCourtTennis
Pro Tennis players from San Diego, brothers Jayson and Michael Blando

The local San Diegan brothers Jayson and Michael Blando have been on a sweet ride since graduating college and going onto the professional tennis tour. They are having great success already and we know their careers are just getting started. The brothers recently joined Conan Lorenzo and Jenna Mariga's podcast, "The Tennis Pros of San Diego Unmatched". In this episode Conan, who has known the Blando brothers since they were just six years old, reminisces on how they grew up playing all the local tournaments and competing in San Diego Team Tennis before going on to play collegiate tennis—first at UC Riverside, and then finishing their college careers at the University of Utah.

Now, as Jayson and Michael Blando begin their journey into the professional tennis ranks, they share an inspiring perspective on everything from life on tour to mental strategies, doubles tennis movement, and more.

Here are a few standout quotes from the episode:

"I sometimes need to just have quiet moments and put away the phone, texts, and social media."
"We’re working on getting more spin into the hips with slice and kick serves."
"We love switching up doubles formations constantly to keep returning opponents off rhythm."
